Krstal K Thompson

Krstal K. Thompson

Dr. Krstal K. Thompson, the newest oral surgeon to our practice, hails from Philippi, WV where she attended Philip Barbour High School and graduated with honors. She attended Alderson Broaddus College where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences. Remaining true to her roots, Dr. Thompson remained in our beautiful, mountain state and attended WVU School of Dentistry where she earned her D.D.S. degree and then completed an additional 5 years with her internship and surgical residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialization at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Dr. Thompson attributes her remarkable success to the people who have supported her beginning with her parents, who taught her to always work hard and encourage her to be the first in her family to graduate college, and to her husband of 14 years who delayed his own education to work to put her through school.

During her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training, Dr. Thompson earned herself a reputation throughout the Health Science Campus for her hard work and excellent performance for which she received an Excellence in Trauma Surgery Award, Cornerstone of Recovery Award from the WVU Trauma Surgery Team and was an American Academy of Orofacial Pain Award recipient.

When not taking care of patients, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time at home and exploring the outdoors with her husband, Ron. She, and Ron, also love to participate in running marathons!

Dr. Thompson has filled a very important niche in our group. It is a privilege to have her join our practice here at Southern West Virginia Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, LTD. She is excited to work with our current local referring doctors and dentists to provide care in our communities. Many of these referring doctors and dentists were her classmates in Morgantown at WVU and she has known them for years. We know you will find her to be a very skilled, talented, and compassionate oral surgeon. We proudly profess, she is a true asset to our practice, and to our citizens of the Southern West Virginia region.
